Recreational
boating safety and public education are our most important objectives
in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. We offer a variety of
courses
throughout the year to enhance your overall knowledge of boating, and
to make you more aware of boating safety issues and legal requirements.

Nebraska State Boating Classes
Classes are currently
being scheduled for Spring and Summer around the Omaha /
Council Bluffs area. If your group or organization would like
to
discuss scheduling a special class for your group, feel
free to
contact
us. Everyone between 14 and 18 is required to have taken this
class
to operate motorboats and PWC's, and the course is great for beginners
and experts alike of any age. Now is a good time to get a start on
the new boating season!
Boating Skills and Seamanship
(BS&S)
A BS&S class is in works for this fall.
The U. S. Coast Guard Auxiliary's
Boating
Skills and Seamanship (BS&S) course is a
comprehensive course designed for both the experienced and the novice
boater. The course consists of 6 required two-hour lessons plus
elective modules, providing up-to-date knowledge for handling boats in
all conditions. The class meets for 2 to 3 hours
each week for 7 or 8 weeks. It covers boating on the
Missouri River.
